Jennifer was born and raised in a very small town in Western Kentucky. Just to go see a movie or eat at a nice restaurant, they would have to travel several towns over. “when you live in such a small community, you learn to appreciate the little things in life,” Jennifer says. “For me personally, it made me realize the value of my family.” These days, nothing is more important to her than her family, which includes husband, Chris, and children, Luke, Grace, and Lee.
Though small town life helped shape Jennifer’s value system and positive outlook, she also longed to explore her own opportunities. She earned her degree in Marketing from Murray Stte University, then made her move to the “big city” Nashville after graduation, which is where she met Chris. For Jennifer life in the city took some getting used to. She enjoyed the excitement and energy, but longed for a little quieter pace, especially once they started a family. When the opportunity arose to move to Athens in 1996, this college town proved to be the perfect fit– a great place to raise children with the ideal blend of big city spirit and small town values.
