South Fulton is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, in the Atlanta metropolitan area, occupying a large expanse of rolling terrain southwest of downtown Atlanta. It was incorporated on May 1, 2017, from formerly unincorporated southwest Fulton County, making it one of the youngest cities in Georgia—yet it unites communities whose roots run far deeper. Neighborhoods such as Red Oak, Sandtown, Cliftondale, Ben Hill, Cedar Grove, and Cooks Crossing long predate the city, and together they now form one of Georgia's largest municipalities, with roughly 115,000 residents.
